If you have to decline on a bat mitzvah invite, what is the appropiate amount of money to send as a gift?

They are my mother's cousin's daughter.
If you have to decline on a bat mitzvah invite, what is the appropiate amount of money to send as a gift?
You should send a nice amount of $20 to $50 in a check form so that you know when it is cashed and it doesn't get cashed by the wrong person.
Reply:it depends, are you okay finacially? Im in college and at this point even if i go i sometimes dont buy a gift. If they invited you just to get a gift they dont deserve it.

If you can afford it, any where from $50 dollars to around $200, depending on how much you see them.
Reply:about.... maybe 15 to 20. or if you really feel like it, 30-50. but i wouldn't think you would.
Reply:Depending on how close you two are, and your financial position $25-$50 range is good; more if you like.
Reply:As much as you think you could afford...no need to go over the top
Reply:Why do you need to send money? Why should they even expect a gift? Oh yeah I forgot their jewish. They must live in NY.
Reply:A couple shekels.
Reply:x %26lt; $5.00
Reply:How much can you afford, and how close do you feel to the bat mitzvah girl?

I gave my nephew fifty bucks when I couldn't attend (he lives 600 miles away and his party was not a fancy one)
Reply:$36 dollars

18 is a lucky number in judiasm - so it's considered double luck to send $36!
Reply:A $50 savings bond (costs $25) is fine.
