I swear, whenever I invite some acquaintance I just met in college out for lunch, she thinks I want something more. Or whenever I invite some guy out, he thinks I'm gay. After that, we don't talk anymore.
What the hell? I just want to become friends with my new acquaintances; why is that so hard?

How can you invite a girl/guy out for lunch without them thinking you like them romantically?
Get it ALL out in the open, makes both parties feel so much more comfrontable. Like the next time you take a lady out, in one of those little moments of slience sort of say something like. "You know your extremely nice person, but everytime I do this with someone they don't understand my motives so I just want to get it right out in the open, that I'm just trying to get to know you, as a friend now, so chill, relax, enjoy yourself, hows the classes?" If its a guy thou just mention, "Hey buddy you know I'm not gay right? Everyone goes gayopobic on me, when I'm not anything like that, just trying to make some connections you know, see what the vibe is" or another round about way with that is just talk about all the sexy girls around, that has a tendency to beat back that gayophonbia... its just let it out in the open in your own unqiue style. The cool thing about this, is if they are liking you (you know appricated the outing, think your a geniune guy) you can't say it wrong. If there not vibe with you it doesn't matter any ways everything you say is wrong, get? So just don't let them make up there own minds on this, tell them, you AND them well feel alot more comfrontable. Had this happen when I've ask to sit next to a girl looking a little lonely in the coffee shop, but I've got my own technques. But everytime unless I explain better while I there, they tend to be a little cold, but as soon as I get it out in the open, I make a new friend! Amazing stuff that honesty!

I also am a fan of the Dance Competition. It's where you split up into groups and make up a dance to a song. Doesn't have to be long, just maybe a couple 8 counts would be good.
This is fun, too. It's the Acting Competition. It's where you take a scene from a movie and you try to act it out. Whoever does best gets a prize.

I wouldn't even mention it, unless this is a very tight-knit group and they would definitely find out and feel left out or offended. If they would, I would just approach them and tell them I wanted to invite them, but could only have ten people. Be prepared to tell them why they were the ones left out if you do this, though!

The wedding's in Mexico in June and no invite yet?
So my cousin's getting married in early June in Mexico, and I still haven't gotten an invite. We all know about it, my parents sent me the link to their wedding web site. So basically, I know I'm invited but I they haven't officially reached out. Is this normal? Shouldn't they have sent something by now?

I have been wanting to ask a woman to join me with my husband for a while now but I do not have the guts to ask him, or another woman for that matter. But I really want to try it. Is this weird? I have been told that I have to send her copies of all pages of my passport....however my passport has expired.Is it necessary for me to renew it right away or can I send copy of expierd passport?

If its the last case you have to send both your expired passport and current passport just as supporting documents that you are actually in the US. For that matter the same applies even though you are a citizen or Perm resident. Its just to make sure that the applicant does have people in US who are inviting them.

Reply:i am a muslim myself who's living in a multiracial country. we never seem to have problems or qualms when it comes to inviting the non-muslims for this kind of things so my advice is to just invite them. however, please make sure that the food/drinks you'll be serving them is non-alcoholic and halal. pork is an absolute no-no and if you want to play it safe, ask for their opinion/maybe even recipes before the party or you can prepare several vegetarian dishes for them too. if you are worried about the opening pray, maybe you can ask them to come later so they can skip it but another gesture that would be appreciated is to ask everyone regardless of religion/faith to recite their prayers in their own way or if this is not possible, to take a few moments of silence as sign of respect. this way, they will also be included (albeit in slightly different fashion). i hope this advice doesn't come too late. gope the pary goes well =)

I am having trouble getting a friend to join my groups site, need to know why she is not receiving an invite?
I have a private group, and i am trying to send an invitation to a friend. She however, is not receiving the invitations. I need to know why this is happening?

She has probably set her account not to accept invitations. You can invite her to join by sending her an email with the address of the group:

When she gets to the group home page, she can click on Join This Group and follow directions for verifying her email address, etc. Tell her to read the emails she gets from Yahoo after she requests membership.

I went to a wedding this weekend that was out of town and the bride was thoughtful enough to leave gifts at the front desk of the hotel for the out of town guests. Theirs had a bottle of wine, some popcorn, chocolates, and a packet of information about the city, including directions to and from the church, which really came in handy. The gifts were nice, but if it isn't in your budget, I would skip the gifts and just print out all of the info from the website you created, in case they forget the directions or need important numbers. Heaven then, I believe is our almighty God's home, our paradise when we leave earth and it is open for those who have lived their life doing good deeds.

It is totally up to you...I met my bf's parents before we even went on a date, and he met mine...everyone was a little shy but it all ended up ok. His mom treats me like her daughter, and even his grandma loves me. So I think that if you feel that this guy is willing to meet you parents, and that the meeting of them would not mess up the relationship, then go for it. If you think this guy is the one, then make sure he is ready to meet your parents. The last thing you need is your parents and boyfriend not getting along.
